CJSC “Voenno-Promyshlennaya Kompaniaya (The Military-Industrial Company)" further “VPK”- is a modern, dynamically developing company in the military industrial complex of the country.

 CJSC "VPK" is a multidisciplinary investment holding, created in 2006 through assets consolidation of the enterprises included into the company and their restructuring.

 

Today, CJSC "VPK" combines economic, scientific and technical capabilities of those enterprises in the field of design, development and serial production of weapons and military equipment, as well as general-purpose products.

 

Instrument making, electronics, element base and software developing enterprises, as well as the infrastructure organizations, providing a wide range of services for the defence industry are included in the structure of the company.

 

Company “VPK” has its strategic objective in the rendering enterprises and enlarging their technological capacity, achieving a high efficiency and profitability through the deep integration and cooperation between them, transforming company into a holding of modern hi-tech and efficient enterprises.

 

The goals of the CJSC "VPK":

·         organization of investment holding through the integration of economic, scientific and technical capacities of some defence industrial complex enterprises and infrastructure companies providing services for the defence industry;

·         consolidation of financial resources for implementing projects on the acquisition of the defence industrial complex enterprises belonging to separate private owners in the interest of public holdings (integrated structures);

·         an effective restructuring of defence enterprises by coordinating their work programs, enlarging their scientific and technological capacities and financial resources to implement the State program of armament and export requirements.

Its leadership sees its task in creating the conditions for continued growth and improvement of scientific and industrial and technological base; in finding, developing and implementing best management practices and business activity; in opening up innovative projects.

History 

CJSC“Voenno-Promyshlennaya Kompaniaya” began to emerge in the mid-to late 1990s. The main task at that time was to bring together the developers and manufacturers of military products, as well as the infrastructure companies to provide integrated services for the defense enterprises.

 

 The idea of creating a new defense industrial holding company was finally realized on  June 9, 2006 with the formation of a single management company - closed joint-stock company“Voenno-Promyshlennaya Kompaniaya”. This event marked a new stage in the history of the group-stage of closer integration under a single managing company.

The CJSC "VPK" entered the top 20 largest enterprises of the defense-industrial complex of Russia in 2006.According tothe Centre of the strategies and technologies analysis the CJSC "VPK took the 19th place in terms of the revenue from sales ".

 

In 2007-2008 the CJSC "VPK" has demonstrated remarkable growth on all directions. Financial indicators of the company grew through the new acquisitions and by increasing revenue on existing enterprises. In 2008, the value of the assets of the Company reached 11.2 billion roubles, increased from 275.1 million roubles in 2006 to 1,3 billion rubles in 2008.

 

In 2009, the main objective was to develop and implement the fundamentally new high-tech products as special (military) and as for civilian use. The company increased the research and development budgets for those projects in more than 20%. It is scheduled to continue technical re-equipment of industrial enterprises, in the group.

 

Today the company unites 16 enterprises and organizations and has the total number of employees more than 7600 people.

 

Professional experience and knowledge in the field of anti-crisis management allow the leadership of the CJSC "VPK" not only effectively manage the enterprises, but also to provide advice and financial support enterprises in the defence industrial complex, outside the group.

 

Application anti-crisis measures allowed us to the end of 2010 to reduce non-productive expenditure of enterprises. In spite of the crisis the net profit of the group reached 350,49 million roubles. The main priority of the company’s activity in 2010-2011 is the preservation and development production and worker’s social support programs of its enterprises and organizations.
